Although many believe that under eye bags are primarily caused by a lack of restful sleep, there could be other causes of dark eye circles forming. Among the other causes are diet - that which causes toxins to form under the eyes - and genetics - nothing much you can do about having inherited genes that predispose you to having under eye bags. In such cases, to remove bags under eyes may prove somewhat tricky.
Some studies believe that under eye bags are caused by impurities and toxins that accumulate in the body over the years. The body naturally cleanses itself of impurities and toxins but as the body ages, its ability to detoxify and get rid of toxins decreases, thereby leading to the buildup of these substances.
Blood vessels under the eyes become filled with fluid causing the skin to stretch making the area look like a filled bag. The darkness that often occurs with this are the blood vessels being brought to the skin surface making the area appear darker.
Bags under the eyes are also thought to have been caused by a sluggish digestive system, primarily the liver that does the bulk of purifying and getting rid of impurities in the body. In order to keep the liver in tip-top condition, make sure you drink enough water daily.
If your liver doesn't function properly, you get water retention that results from having perhaps drunk too much fluid just before bedtime or eaten too much salty food.
Genetics too, play a part in whether you tend to have dark eye circles which is why even some children can be seen to have under eye bags. If you are genetically predisposed to have under eye bags, then any of the factors that contribute to this condition makes you more susceptible.
Another cause of under eye bags developing is aging. The skin under the eyes are very delicate and thin. Over the years, the force of gravity takes it toll and the skin sags naturally much like other parts of the body. The collagen inside these areas loses its elasticity and the skin starts to wrinkle and sag.
